These terms govern your use of basis-nutrition.com and every purchase you make from our shop. By placing an order you accept them. They are written to be read; if anything is unclear, email us and we will explain it plainly.

Who we are

Basis Nutrition (Pty) Ltd, a company incorporated in South Africa, based in Somerset West, Western Cape. You can reach us at [email protected] and we reply within one business day.

Our products are food, not medicine

We sell food supplements. They are not medicines, and nothing on this site is medical advice. Statements about our products have not been evaluated by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority. Supplements do not replace a varied diet. If you are pregnant, nursing, under medical care or taking medication, talk to your doctor before using them, and keep them out of reach of children.

Your account

You sign in with your Google account; we never see a password. Keep that account secure, because anyone who controls it controls your orders. Keep your delivery addresses accurate. We may close an account used fraudulently or abusively.

Orders

Placing an order is an offer to buy. We accept it when payment is confirmed and we issue an order confirmation. We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch if a product is out of stock, if a price or description was plainly wrong, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel, we tell you why and refund you in full within 5 business days.

Prices and payment

Prices are in South African rand and include VAT where applicable. Delivery is charged as shown at checkout before you pay. We may change prices at any time, but never for an order you have already placed. Payment is processed by Paystack; your card details go to Paystack, not to us.

Repeat orders

If you set up a repeat order, your card is billed at the interval you chose until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account or by emailing us; cancel before the next charge date and you will not be billed again. Cancelling stops future orders and does not undo an order already placed, which the returns policy covers.

Delivery

Delivery works as set out in our shipping policy, which is part of these terms. Ownership and risk pass to you when the parcel is delivered to your address.

Cancellations, returns and refunds

Cooling off, returns and refunds work as set out in our returns and refunds policy, which is part of these terms. Nothing in it or in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

Your information

How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

Our liability

We are liable for what the law makes us liable for, including defective products under the Consumer Protection Act, and we do not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Beyond that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

The site

We work to keep the site accurate and available but do not promise it will be free of errors or interruptions. The content, design and brand are ours; you may not copy them for commercial use without our written permission.

General

These terms are governed by South African law. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we change these terms we will change the date at the top; the terms in force when you place an order are the ones that apply to it.
